7th & Grove

If you know anything about Tampa, you know that: 1. It's an up and coming city, with newly spiked interest and more and more people moving in; and 2. It's all about Ybor. The strip in Ybor city is Tampa's own version of bourbon street, lined with bars, restaurants, tattoo shops, cigar shops, clubs; you name it it's there. So it's great that among these businesses a staple has emerged in the restaurant/night life scene that's black owned.

7th and Grove clever name, that doubles as the address, is a restaurant lounge. I've patronized this business numerous times and have never been disappointed. It's a popular spot among the natives and visitors alike and there's a reason for that. Let's start with the venue. Full service restaurant on one side and Lounge on the other complete with VIP seating, bar, dance floor, and balcony. The hospitality is on point!!! Wait staff is helpful, lounge staff is beautiful and accommodating, drinks are strong and moderately priced. What's Sundays without brunch? And yes they have it!! Buffet for around $30 with bottomless mimosa add on options. One of the best things is both the vibe and the food are good, one wasn't sacrificed for the other. I had the opportunity of celebrating my birthday here and at the time they didn't take reservations for large parties however they accommodated all 9 of us on arrival. Months later I was back for a bachelor party and I made sure we stopped by for their Friday happy hour (all you can drink till 10). Highly rated and LAG Approved.
